331d484555 utils: add noalloc flag to modifyString()

f5ebc22eeb utils: add unescape_tag function 
This is added to remove any escape chars from a string.
This will be used in a pending patch, that correctly reads .nfo files that
contain escape chars.

bceacccb7b Do not let make_dir fail on EISDIR 
Some systems set errno to EISDIR when a directory exists already,
instead of EEXIST.
